SUN Nutrition Training & Consultancy provides training services to staffs and carers in nurseries, care homes, schools, fitness centers, catering and health related industries. We offer cost effective way to deliver great courses that are practical and interactive.  SUN Nutrition Training & Consultancy is an approved training centre for the Royal Society for Public Health and delivers all levels of RSPH training courses in Nutrition.

We also provide nutritional consultancy services to businesses and organisations. We will work with you to optimise the health and wellness of your staff, to educate your members in special area of nutrition, to analyse and design your menu for meeting the nutritional standard and regulations.

We offer menu development and analysis for catering companies, nurseries, schools, or organizations. This service allows you to ensure your menu can meet the nutritional requirements and standards. We can provide services to formulate food policies for your organization. We also have experiences in healthy food product developments.

Nutrition Competency

We recommend the following steps to build the nutrition competency for your organisation:

  1. RSPH Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets – Ideally, the qualification of Level 2 Award in Healthier foods and Special Diets (1 day session) is a good start for your staffs and cooks. This qualification provides a good foundation in nutrition knowledge. It will pave the way for designing a balanced diet to cater for different age groups and various dietary requirements.
  2. Dedicated Training – We then recommend a following up course to apply the knowledge in your specific environment such as care homes and nurseries. The courses normally last for 1 day and  is specifically designed to bring awareness of the UK nutritional guidelines, to understand the nutritional needs including those who have special dietary requirements, to familiar with the principle of meal planning to ensure that the nutritional guideline is met, and finally to communicate confidently the nutritional awareness to your clients.
  3. Menu Analysis – In order to ensure the theory is translated into practices, we provide services to analyse your existing menu. We will work with your cooks to discuss the existing menu. A report will be produced to include a detail nutrient analysis and recommendations on how to improve your menu. We will go through the report with your cook and draw a plan to improve the existing menu.
  4. RSPH Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Healthier Food and Special Diets – To continue building the nutrition competency in your organisation, leadership is required to ensure the guidelines are applied day in day out. The qualification of Level 3 Award in Healthier Foods and Special diets (3 days) will provide manager, team leader and main cook with a strong knowledge in nutrition. This will help them in making important decision for your nursery and influencing others to build the nutrition competency in your organisation.
